Qualifications
  • Jonathan Tan learned to play the piano at the age of six and attained a Grade 8 in Pianoforte Performance and Theory of Music from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. He subsequently studied classical organ performance and improvisation under Robert Navaratnam, Organist of the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd in Singapore.

  • Jonathan also holds a MA in Liturgical Studies from the Graduate Theological Union (1998) and a Ph.D. in Religious Studies from The Catholic University of America (2002).

  • Jonathan is currently the Organist/Music Director at Grace Episcopal Church in College Hill (Cincinnati, OH). He also freelances as a supply organist/church musician in the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky metropolitan region.

  • Jonathan has more than two decades of experience as church organist. While he specializes in Roman Catholic and Anglican/Episcopal liturgies, he has also played for many Presbyterian, UCC, United Methodist, and Lutheran churches (Please see Organist Positions Held below for a complete listing of organist/music director positions held since 1986).
